"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)
Today is Election Day, and it is an important day not just for our nation, but also for you as a couple. As you prepare to vote, remember that this is a day to walk in faith and unity, trusting that God is in control.
Here are some thoughts to carry with you as you cast your votes:
- Begin the Day in Prayer – Take a moment this morning to pray together, seeking God's peace and wisdom. Ask Him to guide your hearts and minds as you make decisions, and to help you be a light to others in how you speak and act.
- Stand Together – Regardless of differences in opinions or choices, remember that unity in Christ is your foundation. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, and let that peace be evident in how you support and respect each other throughout the day.
- Trust God's Sovereignty – Once you've voted, release any anxiety or worry into God's hands. He is sovereign over all things, and our hope is not in any one person or policy but in Jesus Christ alone.
May this day be an opportunity for you to grow closer as a couple, knowing that your ultimate purpose is to honor God together. Let your voices be heard in the voting booth and your hearts be anchored in Him.
Blessings to you both today as you walk in faith and love,
Dr. Deborah
