A Conversation with Scott Stone Polygrapher and Man of Faith

When Truth Meets Healing

In a special interview, I had the privilege of speaking with Scott Stone—a retired police officer, trained polygrapher, and man of faith whose story reminds us that God’s truth always leads to freedom.

Scott’s life journey—from service, loss, and loneliness to healing and renewed purpose—reveals how truth-telling and faith can transform not only marriages but lives. As a polygraph examiner, he utilizes his unique skill to help couples find clarity, accountability, and hope.

John 8:32 (NLT) says, “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Freedom isn’t found in accusation—it’s found in truth guided by compassion and grace.

During our conversation, Scott shared how truth-telling restores relationships. He explained that many couples don’t struggle because of what they don’t know, but because of what they’re afraid to say. Truth becomes healing when it’s handled with humility and love.

He reminded us:

  • Truth brings light to the unseen. It uncovers, not to condemn, but to heal.
  • Truth invites grace. Once everything is in the open, God can work.
  • Truth requires courage. Facing reality is the first step toward restoration.

Scott’s insight as a polygrapher and believer shows us that when we walk in honesty—with God, ourselves, and each other—we open the door to peace that cannot be manufactured.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for reminding us that truth and healing go hand in hand. Give us the courage to face the truth with humility and the grace to respond with love. Use truth to set our marriages free and restore what has been hidden or broken. In Jesus’ name, amen.
