As we reach the halfway point of the year, many women, just like you, begin to feel the weight of unmet goals, hurried lives, and hidden disappointment. But what if this moment is exactly where God meets us - in our weariness - with an invitation to begin again?
God has been teaching me and the women I serve to release guilt, lean into grace, and trust that His timing is still perfect.
I believe God is teaching women that the world has nothing to offer—that they are to influence the world for Christ, not be influenced by it. He sees their pain and is waiting for them to put their hand in His. They can still have the marriage and the relationships they desire. They’re not too old, and their situation is not too far gone to begin again.
God’s timing is perfect. Time may feel like it’s slipping away, adding to their sense of hopelessness, but the truth remains: God is good all the time. The key is to keep our eyes on Jesus, or we’ll miss what today has to offer.
I’ve experienced that exact thing. I’ve learned that staying focused on Jesus is what brings clarity and peace. Each day is another opportunity to live the life Jesus died to give us. We don’t always see how He’s bringing us into His promises, because we’re focused on the wrong things.
I’ve had to learn that God’s ways are better than mine and His thoughts are higher than mine. Real change began when I started trusting Him fully. I needed healing for a broken heart, and it began by letting God into every corner of it.
As women, we don’t compartmentalize our lives. Everything blends together, and it becomes like a snowball rolling downhill—eventually turning into a boulder at impact. Then it shatters.
We must give ourselves permission to take care of our whole selves. Letting go of trying to be everything to everyone is not sustainable. Instead, women need to discover their God-given gifts, understand how they have been equipped for their purpose, and let the Holy Spirit help them develop their own unique plan for life.
A daily reset begins with God. Spend time with Him in the morning. Journal what He reveals. Pay attention to when your needs aren’t being met in godly ways—your journal will tell you. Your thoughts shape your path.
Invite a few trusted, godly women into your life. Live intentionally and purposefully. You need women who will pray for you, speak truth in love, help you move forward, encourage you, and walk alongside you.
Don’t let comparison take you off that path. Social media is a thief, and the world is a lonely place. But Jesus came so that we may have life, and have it abundantly.
John 10:10 has been my true north in every season:
‘The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.’ (NLT)
That verse reminds me that the abundant life isn’t just something we wait for—it’s something we can step into today when we reset our focus and rest in God’s promises.”
Mid-year is not the end of the story—it’s the turning point. Grace says you don’t need to catch up. You just need to come close. Remember, change begins with us, and trusting God begins the journey.
Let’s walk forward - together.
With grace and truth,
Dr. Deborah
