There’s something profoundly difficult about waiting. Whether you’re waiting for a new opportunity, for healing, for resolution in a relationship, or for clarity in your next step—waiting can feel like time is standing still. It’s during these seasons of waiting that we’re often confronted with doubts, fears, and the overwhelming desire to take matters into our own hands.

But waiting isn’t wasted. In fact, the Bible is full of stories of people who found themselves in seasons of waiting, only to discover that God was preparing them for something far greater than they could have imagined. So, how do we trust God when life feels stalled?

  1. Remember God’s Promises

One of the most powerful things we can do in the waiting is to remember God’s promises. Scripture is full of reminders that God is faithful, that His timing is perfect, and that He has a plan for our lives. In Jeremiah 29:11, God says, "For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

It’s easy to lose sight of these promises when life feels stalled. But holding onto them helps us anchor our hearts in truth. God hasn’t forgotten you. He knows exactly where you are and what you’re going through, and He is working behind the scenes to bring about His perfect plan.

  1. Trust in God’s Timing

One of the hardest parts of waiting is letting go of our own timeline. We often have a plan for how we think things should go and when they should happen, but God’s timing is rarely the same as ours.

In Isaiah 55:8-9, God reminds us, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways."

Trusting in God’s timing requires us to surrender our plans and trust that He knows what’s best for us—even when it doesn’t feel like it.

  1. Lean Into the Stillness

In Exodus 14:14, we’re reminded that, "The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still." Sometimes, the waiting period is an invitation to be still and lean into God’s presence. It’s in the stillness that we can hear His voice more clearly, find rest for our souls, and allow Him to strengthen us for what’s ahead. Waiting is not inactivity—it’s a time for renewal, for reflection, and for deeper intimacy with God.

If you’re in a season of waiting right now, I want to encourage you to trust God’s plan, even when life feels stalled. Waiting can feel frustrating, but God is using this time to shape you, grow you, and prepare you for the future He has for you. His timing is perfect, and His plans are good. Trust Him in the waiting, and you’ll see how He brings beauty out of the pause.
