My husband says that I say this to people … all the time.

Oh … my … goodness …

I’m not for small chit-chat, so when I say, “what’s your story”, I genuinely want to know who you are and how did you get to where you are today. I’m in awe of God’s creative redemption, restoration, and renewal of all people.

Before God began to create in Gen. 1:1, He had you in mind with all your uniqueness.

In Ephesians 2:10 ESV If you are IN Christ, you are:

“… his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” This means you! “Beforehand” meaning before all creation.

In Ephesians 1:3, “you have every spiritual blessing IN Christ Jesus”.

See a pattern here? IN Jesus.

Are you IN Christ? Walking, talking, and creating with Jesus?

You have a God-purpose, a plan and equipped for it.  He wants you to know it. This is not a cliché or a self-help theory. It’s your original intent, the reason for your being. Selah- take some time to rest on that.

God is so good because He is goodness. He is so loving because He is love. In Christ, He has given you His Spirit to lead you into all truth.

Are ready to walk in your God-given design and calling on your life?

You have everything you need to live a life of love, joy and to pursue it with passion.

What’s stopping you?

Is it because you have a real enemy who wants to steal, kill and destroy your purpose. John 10:10. Has he whispered in your ear,  “you are not worthy, your past is not in your past and perhaps you are your mistakes”. Truth is, you can’t change your past, but you can leave it behind and change your future IN Christ!

So, I just have to ask, “what’s your story?” It’s your time to get back to basics.

How do you do this?

  • Assess your relationship with God. Carve out some quiet time, even for only 5 minutes at first every day. Journal, pray and worship Him. Matt.6:33
  • Evaluate your relationships. Look at who you spend the most time with. You are the sum of the 5 people you are around the most. 1Thess.5:21
  • Seek Godly influences. Ask them for accountability to be who God created you to be by changing your mindset. Phil. 2:5

God hears your prayers beloved. He knows everything about you. When you were in your mother’s womb, He was creating your inner most being- your reason for being born. PS. 139:14  You’re who God says you are and nothing less.

Knowing your story, learning your purpose, and revealing your true self to pursue your passion will inspire you and others to keep moving forward no matter what season of life you are in. Most of all … you will bring God glory.

Heartfully yours

Deb Skomba
