_be_differentTemperament is the determining factor in finding a career that is most comfortable, finding hobbies that will bring the most satisfaction, how we make decisions, take on responsibilities, how dependent we are and our spiritual development.

At Heart to Heart all pastoral care and coaching clients will be administered a temperament assessment which will allow for quicker and more accurate insight for healing and growth.

The creationist theory of temperament teaches that every individual has been given a plan and purpose and is equipped to carry it out within them by God - placed while within the mother’s womb. (Ps. 139). We are spiritual beings that were created by God with a balance of spirit, soul and body. (1Thess.5:23 NLT) While our spirit includes our temperament, our heart is the binding, blending and balancing agent within our temperament, while overlapping our soul (our will and emotions).

There are 3 areas that are revealed. First, the Inclusion area includes your intellect as well as the level of need to establish and maintain satisfactory relationships, associations and socialization as well as indicating intellectual energies. Secondly, the Control area shows your will as well as decision-making, willingness to take on responsibility and the need for interdependence. Finally, Affection includes your emotions and your need for love and affection, your need to establish and maintain deep, personal relationships with people.

The results are measured by expressed and wanted needs and are a blend of 5 different temperaments- the Sanguine, Melancholy, Choleric, Phlegmatic and Supine. There are no right or wrong among any of them but each has its own unique strengths and weaknesses.

“You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it” Psalm 139:13-14 NLT
